This past week in Independent Study and Mentorship we began planning out our trifolds and creating invitations to send out for our research showcase. For the trifold we have to have our original work, our mission statement, our quote, our mentor, our topic of choice, and things that relate to our original work. For mine I put my mentor, my mission statement, my quote, for my original work I put the "movie poster" I made for my screenplay, and I put two real movie posters that pertain to two topics I studied for my original work. The two topics are symbolism in film and mental illness in movies. These pertain to my screenplay because throughout the film there are many symbols that have deeper meaning to than what is described. Also in the film the main character goes through many episodes of depersonalization which is a mental illness that makes someone feel as though they are not themselves. With the representation of mental illness in film it is important to make these representations accurate, so by studying the illness it is more accurate in the out come of the film.

I am excited for this next week in Independent Study and Mentorship because I will be going on my next mentor visit and will be typing up my next scene for my short film.
