This past week in Independent Study and Mentorship I scheduled my first interview for September 26. This is really exciting because it will be my first time meeting with a professional about cinematography and getting to learn more about video production. It was also fascinating to see that the professional I am having an interview with entered a film festival that presented films by disabled people or featured disabled people which was very interesting to witness.
I also analyzed an article that explained some fundamental parts of the video production process that explained lighting, camera angles, camera movement, and much more. Camera angles have a major influence on how the audience perceives characters, influencing their trustworthiness, honesty, and significance. There are also some rules that go hand in hand with photography rules that make images and scenes more comfortable for the eye. For example, 'The Rule of Thirds' and 'The 180 Degree Rule' are two important principles for maintaining visual aesthetics. 'The Rule of Thirds' is a design principle that is used to divide a space into thirds.
This next coming week I hope to schedule some more interviews with professionals to get more insight in their experience working on production sets.
